Kupa River Rafting
Huck Finn one day trip
Forests, mountains and rivers are what makes Gorski kotar region what it is - the greenest part of Croatia. A special way to discover and explore its natural beauties is by paddling down the clear and green Kupa River. This trip is a soft adventure adapted for beginners, families with children or those who wish to spend a relaxing day on the water enjoying beautiful nature. You can extend your visit by exploring Risnjak National Park which is in the area.
No previous rafting experience is needed if you can swim. Even children from 8 years old accompanied by parents can participate. Rafting boats are used during high water season. In the summer the water level falls down (usually from June to September) so we use open canoes or sit-on-top kayaks for 2 persons with optional child seat. This excursion is a part of our multi-day trip Mountain Country.

Prices: 35 € per person (250 Kuna)
Child discount: 50% for children under 12 years
Included: guide, use of necessary equipment, insurance
Transfer: on request
Optional lunch: snack lunch from 7 € per person in the restaurant of Risnjak Hotel in Delnice. Feel free to contact us is you wish to make reservations for lunch.
Discount: for 20 persons booked, 1 ticket is for free. Additional discount 1,5€ (10 Kuna) per persons for groups of 35 people and more.

The rafting is possible every day of the week for a minimum of 8 people.

CANCELLATIONS
In the unlikely case of extreme weather conditions Huck Finn Adventure Travel will re-schedule the activity for a day or two prior or after the date booked, if possible. If the change is not possible, the payments will be refunded in full.
All client's cancellations must be in writing - by email or fax.
Cancellation charges per person (percentage of total price):
- 8 or more days prior to arrival 0%
- 2-7 days prior to arrival 50%
- 1 day prior to arrival or no show 100%
Program & Gear List
We will meet at 11 am in Hotel Risnjak in Delnice, the central town of Gorski Kotar region situated near the entrance to Risnjak National Park. If you want to take a coffee or relax on the terrace, plan to arrive earlier. We will then drive to our start point by the Kupa River. After providing you with the equipment, preparing the boats and giving you safety instructions, we will start our expedition through the impressive canyon and a landscape of forests.
After the end of the trip, we will drive you back to your vehicles left at the start point. You can have lunch in the restaurant of Risnjak Hotel in Delnice (feel free to contact us for reservations).
Category: class I-II
Equipment: We use professional Sotar rafting boats for max 10 persons, with one trained guide in each boat. You will get a helmet, a life jacket, a paddle (plus long neoprene suit & rain jacket in case of cold weather) and one waterproof container per boat for personal items (camera, drinks, etc.).
Things to bring with you: shorts or bathing suit, T-shirt and sandals (or sport shoes), towel, sun cream, water. Optional picnic, but we can also organise lunch for you on request. If you have sun glasses don't forget to tie them.
Huck Finn is not responsible for the loss or damage of your personal items.

In case of low water levels (usually from June-September) we will descend the Kupa in kayaks or canoes.
Note: This itinerary is subject to change dependent on group abilities and preferences, weather and special events. Huck Finn guides and trip Leaders will do their utmost to ensure the best possible experience for their clients without compromising safety at any time. This may mean changing the original itinerary to avoid discomfort or risk which could be caused by exceptional heat or cold, stormy weather, heavy traffic or other reasons beyond our control.

How to get there
From Rijeka direction:
Take the highway Rijeka-Delnice. Exit in Delnice and drive to the bus station in the town center. Hotel Risnjak is situated just by the bus station.
- Own transport: if you are driving, we recommend leaving Rijeka 45 min before.
- Public transport: there are direct trains and buses from Rijeka to Delnice.
From Zagreb direction:
Take the highway Zagreb-Karlovac-Delnice. Exit in Delnice and drive to the bus station in the town center. Hotel Risnjak is situated just by the bus station.
- Own transport: if you are driving, we recommend leaving Zagreb 1h30 before.
- Public transport: there are direct trains and buses from Zagreb to Delnice.
