Huck Finn one day trip
Zrmanja rafting trip is an expedition down the magnificent Wild West-like canyons of the Zrmanja and Krupa Rivers in Velebit Nature Park. Rafting on Zrmanja perfectly clear and green waters, rapids and waterfalls, hidden swimming pools and steep sided canyons will steal your heart and make this excursion an unforgettable experience.
No previous rafting experience is needed if you can swim. Even children from 8 years old accompanied by parents can participate on this rafting trip. Rafting boats are used during high water season. In the summer the water level falls down (usually before May and after September, but the water level can vary a lot in spring and in autumn) and we use open canoes or sit-on-top kayaks for 2 persons with optional child seat. Zrmanja rafting is a part of our multi-day trips The Land of Waterfalls, Rivers by the Sea, River Deep Mountain High and River to the Sea Canoeing.

Prices: 39 € per person (280 Kuna)
Child discount: 50% for children under 12 years
Included: guide, use of necessary equipment, insurance, entrance to Velebit Nature Park
Transfer: on request.
Optional lunch: from 7 € per person. Feel free to contact us is you wish to make reservations for lunch.
Discount: for 20 persons booked, 1 ticket is for free. Additional discount 1,5€ (10 Kuna) per persons for groups of 35 people and more.

CANCELLATIONS
In the unlikely case of extreme weather conditions Huck Finn Adventure Travel will re-schedule the activity for a day or two prior or after the date booked, if possible. If the change is not possible, the payments will be refunded in full.
All client's cancellations must be in writing - by email or fax.
Cancellation charges per person (percentage of total price):
- 8 or more days prior to arrival 0%
- 2-7 days prior to arrival 50%
- 1 day prior to arrival or no show 100%
Program & Gear List
Zrmanja rafting starts in the little village of Kastel Zegarski in our base by the Zrmanja River. After providing you with the equipment, we will start our rafting trip. Time and weather permitting, a stop will be made at the spot of confluence of Zrmanja and Krupa, a magical place for a swim and a picnic. The trip ends by the bridge in Muskovci where you will change and we'll drive you back to the start point where you left your cars. You can also order lunch several days in advance, it will be waiting for you after the rafting - a traditional meal "Peka“ is really worth a taste.

Equipment: We use professional Sotar rafting boats for max 10 persons, with one trained guide in each boat. You will get a helmet, a life jacket, a paddle (plus long neoprene suit & rain jacket in case of cold weather) and one waterproof container per boat for personal items (camera, drinks, etc.).
Things to bring with you: shorts or bathing suit, T-shirt and sandals (or sport shoes), towel, sun cream, water. Optional picnic, but we can also organise lunch for you on request. If you have sun glasses don't forget to tie them.
Huck Finn is not responsible for the loss or damage of your personal items.
PROGRAM
10.00 Arrival in Kastel Zegarski where you will get the equipment. Instructions and safety briefing
11.00 Start of the rafting
14.00 End in Muskovci, optional lunch
In case of canoeing or kayaking, the duration if the trip is longer (ends around 15.00).
In case of low water levels (usually from mid June to mid September), we will use 2-person open canoes or sit-on-top kayaks, with optional 3rd seat for children.
Note: This itinerary is subject to change dependent on group abilities and preferences, weather and special events. Huck Finn guides and trip Leaders will do their utmost to ensure the best possible experience for their clients without compromising safety at any time. This may mean changing the original itinerary to avoid discomfort or risk which could be caused by exceptional heat or cold, stormy weather, heavy traffic or other reasons beyond our control.

How to get there
From Zagreb/Karlovac/Plitvice/Gracac direction:
You can take the highway or the local roads to Gracac and then the local road in the direction of Krupa. Turn sharp left to Krupa 1 km after the tunnel. After you pass the river Krupa an the monastery Krupa, follow the main road (around 4 km) until you reach the stone bridge over the Zrmanja River. Then turn right and follow the Raftrek signs that will lead you to a private house by the river where our base is (300 m).
From Biograd and Pakostane direction:
Drive to Benkovac and then in the direction of Obrovac. After Krusevo do NOT turn left to Obrovac, but continue forward for 16,5 km to a viaduct. After the viaduct you will see an abandoned factory on your left side after which you will turn left to Kastel Zegarski. When you arrive in Kastel Zegarski stick to the left and follow the Raftrek signs that will lead you to a private house by the river where our base is.
From Starigrad:
Drive to Obrovac. In Obrovac turn right over the bridge that leads to Benkovac/Zadar. The road will lead you from the canyon to the first intersection (on the hill) where you turn left and after 16,5 km arrive to a viaduct. After the viaduct you will see an abandoned factory on your left side after which you will turn left to Kastel Zegarski. When you arrive in Kastel Zegarski stick to the left and follow the Raftrek signs that will lead you to a private house by the river where our base is.
From Zadar:
Drive towards Obrovac passing through Zemunik and Karin. After Krusevo do NOT turn left towards Obrovac, but continue forward for 16,5 km to a viaduct. After the viaduct you will see an abandoned factory on your left side after which you will turn left to Kastel Zegarski. When you arrive in Kastel Zegarski stick to the left and follow the Raftrek signs that will lead you to a private house by the river where our base is.
