How to get there
There is a ship going to Kolocep island from Dubrovnik main port called Gruz, at 10 am. You can buy the boat tickets at the Jadrolinija office just across the ship Postira.
We were in Dubrovnik for 3 days and one of the highlights was kayaking with Goran. He was knowledgeable, funny and patient. We kayaked zaton bay and a neighboring island where we swam and had an incredible lunch. The fresh grilled squid was one of the best things I ever ate. We wish Goran could have been our guide for the whole week! This is a must do! Only 30 mins from the old city and definitely ask for Goran!

We joined a day sea kayaking trip to Kococep with Huck Finn.
It was a great trip with gorgeous
views. But what I really want to comment on is the superb service received from Huck Finn prior
to the trip. We began planning our day trips back in February/March. We had determined that we
were spending 3 nights in Split and 3 in Dubrovnik.
I had emailed a few outfitters to get some ideas
on what the options are for organized tours, transportation between the cities, or day trips. Nika
from Huck Finn was extremely helpful and provided some good suggestions for us to consider. She
was never impatient with my thousand questions and was always responsive. It definitely made
the planning easier to be able to bounce some ideas off someone local.
Nika also helped arrange
transportation for the 6 of us between Split to Dubrovnik. The driver we had was friendly and
knowledgeable and made the trip immensely enjoyable.

We booked the sea kayaking to Kolocep before we went away - it was very easy to do. We met at
the agreed place in Zaton Mali after receiving very clear directions to get there.
We met up with
our guide immediately & were very lucking in having him completely to ourselves. Kayaking was
much easier than we had imagined & we had a lovely trip over to the island - our guide was very
entertaining & informative.
Unfortunately as we tried to go around the island the wind got up &
we had to abandon our trip as it got too dangerous! Kayaking in waves was much less easy but we
managed to get back to the resaurant with a few hairly moments!!
The restaurant they took us to
was really nice & we had a lovely meal of seabass recommended by the guide. He then took us on a
nice walk around the island as we didnt get to see it all from the sea! It was too rough to kayak back
to the mainland but we travelled in style on the catamaran instead!! Day didn't go entirely to plan
but we still had a great time - our guide was brilliant & kayaking (on calm water!) was a lot of fun!

We travelled to Dubrovnik with a group of 14 guys and had arranged kayaking for a day with
We were picked up at our hotel and transferred to a catamaran for the start of our trip to the harbour
where we picked up our kayaks.
Here we met Goran our guide for the day.I think he was a little
taken aback by our motley crew but he was really patient and even arranged a rescue of one of our
group who decided that kayaking just wasn't for him.
We kayaked for a bit and them had a great lunch in the most fantastic setting (fish amazing!) which
was again arranged by Huckfinn.
After lunch a number of us continued to kayak back to shore which was a really memorable trip as
the scenery was just beautiful.
After kayaking we returned to the huckfinn base for our transfer home where we also recieved a
lovely cold beer....great!
We are a group that travel together every year for the past 10 years and often take on a tour but this
years kayaking goes down as the most memorable yet and I look forward to using huckfinn in the
I cannot thank Goran enough for his time, patience and company, really top bloke.

My friend and I booked the Seakayaking tour around Kolocep Island and the Biking Tour around
Sipan Island before leaving Ireland for Croatia.
We stayed in a hotel in Lapad Bay and were
brought to Zaton Bay by the lovely Patrick and then went by speedboat to Kolocep Island with Pave
who also brought us on the Sea Kayaking trip. 4 of us went with Pave and it was BRILLIANT!
Lots of seakayaking (we went around the whole island) and we got to snorkel a wee bit, swim in
a cave and see lots more caves. We also had a lovely fish lunch in a local restaurant there. 2 days
later Patrick collected us from our hotel again and we went to Sipan island for our biking trip. It too
Francie & Angie had a great time cycling around Sipan with Patrick who was
an A1 tour guide. On the way back that afternoon, Pave & Patrick dropped us off in Lapad bay by
speed boat and recommended we check out the Cave More Bar underneath the Hotel More. br />
you so much for this great tip! That place is amazing and we really enjoyed our cocktails there. So
much so, that we went twice! :-) Me and Angie could not recommend Huck Finn Adventures in
Dubrovnik enough. We'd a super time on both trips and we got some great photos!
This is the best
way to see more of beautiful Croatia and is the best value for money! Soooo reasonable!
We long to
go back. Hvala :-)
