Sea Kayaking Zaton Bay
Huck Finn one day trip
This is a sea kayaking tour of 5 beaches of Zaton bay. Zaton bay is a charming and picturesque, 2 km long bay, only 8 km away from Dubrovnik. Zaton bay is a destination for those who want to swim on pebbly beaches or rocky crags, sea kayak near cliffs and explore the underwater world. All three villages – Zaton Mali, Zaton Veliki and Stikovica, have cozy restaurants by the sea where one can savour Dubrovnik and Dalmatian specialities. The freshwater source Vrelo is a natural site located at the bottom of the Zaton bay, whose waters once moved the mills. Zaton is recognized as a Dubrovnik summer manor region.
No previous sea kayaking experience is needed. Even children from 8 years old accompanied by parents can participate. This excursion is a part of our multi-day trip Sea kayaking Dubrovnik.
2012 PRICELIST
Prices: 35 € per person (250 Kuna)
Child discount: 50% for children under 12 years
Included: guide, use of necessary equipment, insurance
Transfer: on request. The cost of our transfer from/to Dubrovnik is additional 7 € (50 Kuna) per person
Optional lunch: lunch from 10 € per person. Feel free to contact us is you wish to make reservations for lunch.
Discount: for 20 persons booked, 1 ticket is for free. Additional discount 1,5€ (10 Kuna) per persons for groups of 35 people and more.

Other days on request. The sea kayaking is possible every day of the week for a minimum of 6 people.

CANCELLATIONS
In the unlikely case of extreme weather conditions Huck Finn Adventure Travel will re-schedule the activity for a day or two prior or after the date booked, if possible. If the change is not possible, the payments will be refunded in full.
All client's cancellations must be in writing - by email or fax.
Cancellation charges per person (percentage of total price):
- 8 or more days prior to arrival 0%
- 2-7 days prior to arrival 50%
- 1 day prior to arrival or no show 100%
Program & Gear List
Zaton is a beautiful 2 km long bay (bay = Zaton) located about 8 km northwest from Dubrovnik. It is divided into Veliki and Mali Zaton with two smaller settlements – Stikovica and Vrbica. The Renaissance summer manors of former Dubrovnik aristocracies are a historical site that make Zaton bay recognizable as a Dubrovnik summer manor region. Family Gučetic, Menčetic, Sorkochevich, Saraka i Lukarevich build their summer residences in Zaton bay.
Equipment: We use professional sit-on-top kayaks with 2 seats and a 3rd one in the middle for children. You will get a dry bag for personal items (camera, drinks, etc.), a life jacket, a paddle and snorkel gear.
Things to bring with you: shorts or bathing suit, T-shirt and sandals (or sport shoes), towel, sun cream, water.
Huck Finn is not responsible for the loss or damage of your personal items.

Pick up from hotel according to the plan between 9:30 and 10:00 am

Note: This itinerary is subject to change dependent on group abilities and preferences, weather and special events. Huck Finn guides and trip Leaders will do their utmost to ensure the best possible experience for their clients without compromising safety at any time. This may mean changing the original itinerary to avoid discomfort or risk which could be caused by exceptional heat or cold, stormy weather, heavy traffic or other reasons beyond our control.

How to get there
From Dubrovnik:
Drive in the direction of Split. After crossing the bridge above the Dubrovnik port, you have about 8 km to the place Zaton Mali. When you pass the restaurant „Babilon“ and the super market „Pemo“ on your right side, turn left after approximately 100 meters in the direction of the sea (left). In a few meters you will be just in front of the restaurant „Dandy“ and you will be able to see our kayaks and our guide by the sea.
Reviews
We were staying at a little village outside Dubrovnik called Stikovica, just across the bay from Zaton where Huck Finn have their base. We hired kayaks from them twice and they were so flexible in organising how and where we could get the kayaks. I'm sure their tours are excellent as well, however exploring the coastline on our own was superb.
