This kayaking trip is an expedition down the magnificent Wild West-like canyons of the Zrmanja and Krupa Rivers in Velebit Nature Park. Perfectly clear and green waters, rapids and waterfalls, hidden swimming pools and steep sided canyons will steal your heart and make this excursion an unforgettable experience.
No previous canoeing or kayaking experience is needed if you can swim. Even children from 6 years old accompanied by parents can participate. During kayaking season (usually June-September) we use open inflatable sit-on-top kayaks for 2 persons.
The trip starts in the little village of Kastel Zegarski in our base by the Zrmanja River. After providing you with the equipment, we will start our expedition downstream. Time and weather permitting, we will stop at the point where the Zrmanja and Krupa meet. This is a magical place for a swim and a picnic. The trip ends by the bridge in Muskovci. Here you can change and we’ll drive you back to the start point where you left your cars.

Cancellation policy: In the unlikely case of extreme weather conditions Huck Finn Adventure Travel will reschedule the activity for a day or two prior or after the date booked, if possible. If the change is not possible, the payments will be refunded in full. All client’s cancellations must be in writing – by email or fax. Cancellation charges per person (percentage of total price):
- 8 or more days prior to arrival – 0%
- 2-7 days prior to arrival – 50%
- 1 day prior to arrival or no show – 100%
Minimum age: 6 years if accompanied by parents.
Departure dates: June – September every day of the week. Please check availability for certain dates before planning the excursion by contacting us.

Equipment: We use professional Rob Fin inflatable boats for 1-2 persons with an optional child seat. You will get a helmet, a life jacket, a paddle (plus long neoprene suit & rain jacket in case of cold weather). We also provide one waterproof container per boat for personal items (camera, drinks, etc.). In case of high water levels (usually April, May and October) eight person rafts will be used.
