Huck Finn’s Adventure Sailing holiday isn’t just a sailing trip or adventure package, we designed this holiday for those who love being active outdoors, who admire art and history, and who appreciate ancient architecture and local tradition.
Daily activities are rather short and not too demanding, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the sun on the deck of your yacht. We will sail 5-6 hours a day, welcoming diverse Adriatic shorelines on a gentle breeze. On this tour, we will visit the islands of Mljet, Korcula, and Hvar – Croatia’s well-known southern islands, as well as smaller Lopud, Kolocep and Sipan Island that belong to the group of Elaphiti Islands. These are some of Croatia’s most beautiful green islands – covered by pine forests with lots of sunshine all rich in history and natural variety – cliffs, caves, coves, rocks and sandy beaches. We will explore them while sailing on a yacht, sea kayaking, cycling, swimming, paddleboarding, snorkeling and on foot.
Our experienced local guides and skippers will avoid overcrowded destinations, ensuring you get the most authentic experience. You will have the opportunity to dine at local family-run restaurants, enjoy good food and excellent wine. Friendly dolphins or tuna that are often seen in the area often escort our yachts. The sea is blue, clear, warm and friendly.
This is a non-smoking holiday, which means we ask our travellers to refrain from smoking in the company of other guests. You can easily combine this short cruise with our other short experiences all over Croatia.
Meet our crew by 11 AM at our base in Komolac and get ready for an amazing adventure. As we pass under Dubrovnik imposing cable-stayed bridge, we will sail out towards the stunning group of Elaphiti Islands. Our first stop, Kolocep Island, calls for water activities such as paddleboarding and snorkeling, followed byan amazing lunch next to the sandy beach. Evening is spent on Sipan Island, calm and relaxing Luka Sipanska village. The island, which is only 16 square kilometres in size, is home to old summer estates and 34 churches that bear witness to a rich history that peaked during the Dubrovnik Republic era. Enjoy your dinner in a cozy seaside restaurant and prepare for a longer day of sailing.

Today we explore Mljet Island and the national park. Along the way, make sure you look out for playful dolphins who will gladly surf along your yacht. Mljet is the most forested island in the Adriatic, and the smell of pine, juniper, bay leaf and other wild herbs is simply captivating. This scenic National Park contains two salt lakes, with a Benedictine monastery on the isle of St. Mary. You will cycle in the park and around its lakes, and optionally take a boat to visit the monastery of St. Mary (time permitting). Swim in the salty lakes and enjoy the perfect peace of this island before returning to your yacht. In the afternoon, we get our sails up and gently cruise towards the Peljesac Peninsula, the turquoise Zuljana Bay for dinner and overnight.

After departing Zuljana, we head towards Korcula Island. Korcula has been known since the 6th century BC under the name of Korkyra Melaina, when it was an ancient Greek colony, in translation “Black Korcula” describing its dark green pine forests. According to some theories, this island is also known as the hometown of the 13th-century explorer and traveller Marco Polo, the first European to present facts about China and other Asian countries. We will make a swimming stop by Badija Island before arriving at the capital of the island for lunch. In the afternoon, look out for skilful windsurfers as we sail across the windy Peljesac canal to the quiet bay for dinner and overnight.

In the morning, we sail out early towards Hvar Island and have breakfast along the way. Cliffed coastline hides small bays with dream-like beaches often accessible only by boat. We will make a few stops for swimming, snorkelling, and paddleboarding on our way before we reach the Pakleni Islands group located across from vibrant Hvar town. In the afternoon, after lunch, we will welcome the peace of a secluded bay on Pakleni Islands, where we will stay overnight.
Accommodation: yacht.

In the morning, after breakfast and a refreshing swim, we will take you to Hvar town – our last destination. Once a Greek colony, today Hvar is famous Mediterranean tourist spot that attracts visitors for its culture, food and wine, adventure and nightlife. Before you leave, visit Renaissance summer residences, small galleries in narrow streets, and Fortica, a fort protecting Hvar since ancient times. From Hvar, there are many connections with Split, only an hour away. Feel free to ask our staff for help with your further arrangements.

We sail when the weather and itinerary allow it. Sailing is our preferred mode of transfer, and our skippers are very experienced, but sometimes a choice needs to be made between getting somewhere in time for a meal or sightseeing or raising the sails and turning off the motor.
This itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, weather conditions and forecasts, water levels, special events of interest, etc. Huck Finn guides and trip leaders will do their utmost to ensure the best possible experience for their clients without compromising safety at any time. This may mean changing the original itinerary to avoid discomfort or risk which could be caused by exceptional situations. Huck Finn reserves the right to alter the itinerary without prior notice.
