Arrival in Dubrovnik, transfer to Zaton Bay

We meet in Gruz harbour at 4 pm and transfer to Zaton, a charming and picturesque bay, only 8 kilometers from Dubrovnik. All three villages – Zaton Mali, Zaton Veliki, and Stikovica have cozy waterfront restaurants where one can savour Croatian and Dalmatian specialties. Zaton will be our base for the first two nights of the holiday. Take your first welcome drink while mingling with fellow group members and get a chance to chat with your guide about the exciting adventures awaiting you in the days ahead.

Kolocep Island Hike

We take the local ferry in the morning and visit Kolocep Island, interesting for its dramatic scenery with rocky beaches, high cliffs, and colorful reefs. There are no cars on this tiny island so the walk through the villages will be very enjoyable. On your walk across the island, you will encounter many architectural remnants, witnesses of the turbulent history of the area: an old pre-Romantic chapel, ruins of a basilica, summer homes of Dubrovnik nobility, Napoelon’s fort, and more. A pleasant noon siesta will take place in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere of Gornje Celo Turquoise Bay, near one of the best fish restaurants in the area. At the end of our beautiful hike we return back to Zaton bay.
