Matko started training to kayak when he was eight years old. Seven years later, he showed interest in rafting and joined the older guides every week for rafting trips. When he turned 18, he started working as a river guide for both rafting and kayaking. Having gained more experience, he started guiding multi-day trips.
He loves being in or near water and lists the Clear Rivers Country as his Number one Huck Finn trip. His favorite pastime is pulling pranks on anyone, anywhere, at any time, so if you ever see him looking idle, beware….
